Work Model: Hybrid (2 Days/Week Onsite)
Contract Duration: 6–12 Months
Rate: £375 per day (Inside IR35)
Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days Preferred
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer with strong Java Development expertise to join a high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality applications while collaborating with global teams in an Agile and DevOps environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java-based applications.
- Own the complete software development lifecycle for assigned deliverables.
- Deliver incremental enhancements, defect fixes, and vulnerability remediation within tight timelines.
- Maintain and improve the existing codebase by implementing enhancements and resolving production issues.
- Collaborate with Operations teams to improve tooling, automation, and platform capabilities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and system performance.
- Participate in Agile PODs, contributing to sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment activities.
- Follow engineering best practices, including code reviews, CI/CD, and DevOps methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Java Development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with Continuous Integration and build processes.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing business requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized application deployment.
- Knowledge of Microservices Architecture and design patterns.
- Understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native application development.
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence.
- Knowledge of Software Configuration Management, branching strategies, and version control.
- Understanding of Google SRE practices and operational excellence.
- Experience with Environment Change & Release Management.
- Exposure to Regulatory Reporting within the Financial Services domain is an added advantage.
